Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy
The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy program is designed to prepare the student for an entry-level position, such as those available in medical clinics or physician's offices. As a Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist you will take patient history, patient vital signs, prepare the examination room for the patient/doctor, assist in any procedures. Other responsibilities include patient billing, charting, filing and computer skills. The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy program develops administration skills as well as clinical skills and prepares the student for such entry-level positions as Physician's Clinical Assistant, Administrative Office Assistant, or Laboratory Assistant. Upon completion of the program you will be eligible to set for the National Registry Exam for Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy.
The Medical Assistant/Phlebotomy program is 7 months in length, day classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm, evening classes are Monday through Thursday 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Dental Assistant
The Dental Assistant program is designed to prepare the student for an entry level position as a Dental Assistant in a General Dentistry Practice, Orthodontic Practice, Pediatric Dentistry, Endodontics, Oral Surgery and Periodontics. The Dental Assistant Program develops front office skills and lab skills, as well as chair-side assisting, radiology, sterilization and CPR. As part of the Dental Assistant program, students will be eligible to take the Radiations and Safety Exam offered by the Oklahoma Dental Foundation. You will learn all aspects of assisting from patient education to the instruments and equipment used in this very demanding field.
The Dental Assistant program is 7 months in length and classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Surgical Technologist
The Surgical Technologist program is designed to provide students with a foundation in the basic sciences and subjects unique to the operating room. The program is designed for students interested in becoming part of an integral team of medical practitioners that provide surgical care to patients in a variety of settings. The program consists of 690 didactic hours and 420 clinical hours. Oklahoma Health Academy is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) by recomendation from The Association of Surgical Technologist. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be eligible to sit for the National Certifying Exam for Surgical Technologists. Graduates will perform entry-level duties in a variety of areas such as hospital settings, ambulatory surgery centers, central supplies, labor and delivery areas, cardiac catheterization laboratories, physicians' offices, and other areas where invasive procedures are performed. Currently offered at our Moore campus only.
The Surgical Technologist program is 10 months in length and classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm, clinical hours may vary based upon clinical site requirements.
Massage Therapy
The Massage Therapy program prepares the student for an entry-level profession as a successful practicing bodyworker. The professional Massage Therapy program teaches the art and science of massage therapy, while also teaching sound business practices which prepares the student for success in the market place. Students learn all aspects of the massage practice and the various massage techniques such as, Swedish, Sports, Oriental, Energetic and Deep Tissue Massages. While learning technique, the student also gets in-depth instruction on the anatomy, physiology and kinesiology of the human body. Upon successful completion of the Massage Therapy Program, the student will be eligible to sit for the certification exam offered through the National Certification Board or Massage Therapy and Bodyworks.
The Massage Therapy program is 9 months in length and classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm.
Medical Office Administrative Specialist
The Medical Office Administrative Specialist program develops administrative office skills and prepares the student for entry-level positions such as Physician's Front Office Assistant, Administrative Office Manager, Medical Secretary, Medical Records, Health Information Records and Medical Reimbursement. Currently offered at the Moore campus only.
